An Anishinaabe from the White Earth Nation, Blaeser also currently serves as Chief Judge of the White Earth Nation Tribal Court. Blaeser is nationally known for his expertise on racial bias in the justice system and the Indian Child Welfare Act. He is a resource for conducting training sessions in these areas. He speaks on topics including racial bias, the Indian Child Welfare Act, domestic abuse, truancy, the concept of family conferencing, and tribal courts.
